@Peyo, I had to re-read a few times, but I think you actually just proposed the polar opposite of what I was saying. That feature you mentioned sounds good too, and you should definitely consider having that (That's a bit like the Drawception Cover feature, and people really liked that) but what I was proposing was something where by UN-liking a panel you have created you could send it to a scraps gallery that someone viewing your work would have to specifically opt to go to in order to see these un-liked panels, the idea being these aren't the sort of panels you'd want to show to someone wanting to see what you're capable of.
What you're saying sounds more like a way to highlight panels you're particularly proud of, which people would definitely love to have as well. I'd consider being able to put panels in a scraps section much more valuable but both would be valued as site features. Being able to organize your work by how you feel about it is an appealing thing,

`Peyo` A lot of times I'd like to make quick responses in strips that have a... shall we say... more breezy and concept-centric art approach... But I tend to hold off from it due to not wanting to turn my gallery into a mass of sketch panels. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way, and a lot of users probably have ideas that they could execute quickly to contribute to things, but they hold off in the name of a baseline of quality.
So!
Would it be possible to add a method to sort the panels in your gallery into different categories (2 would be fine for starters, and maybe all that's ever needed) like the scraps function on other art sites? It would need to be something decided by the gallery owner for any given panel at any given time, so would need to be independent of the drawing tool, since you can be locked out of that if a strip does not allow editing. One idea I had would be a tab that opens up another version of your gallery but allows you to click panels you want to send to the other gallery (To scraps from normal, or to normal from scraps) and save to reload and do the send. A "sort mode."
Then, when viewing a user's gallery, there could be a "Scraps" or "Sketch" tab that holds all the sketch work.
Needless to say what went where would be entirely up to the judgement of the gallery owner with no standard applied. It would be a tool for curating how your work is seen by others.

That works great and is interesting to see as a gallery too! Thank you for adding that!

`Timebroken` Super fun comic thank you for doing it with me! XD I loved the Hell Sandwich concept and your final panel!

`Peyo` I have no idea how it would work best. I'd initially just say having a message like the game passing or mention in comments would work well but I have no idea if that's the best. Maybe others will have thoughts on it too. If it's not too hard to add special icons to events to make them easy to identify at a glance having everything stuck in one list wouldn't be so bad. Like maybe an icon for "mention" an icon for "pass" and an icon for "submission."

`Peyo` Actually I am not sure if this is just me, so I'll just relate what happened. I tend to think this would be a good idea and if I recall I think somehow it was notifying people of this on PJ but I can't remember exactly. Okay, myself and Timebroken were doing a secret strip specifically testing some of the aspects of the secret strip as you worked on it, and this isn't related, but when Timebroken completed a panel on a secret strip I owned, the only way I found out about it was when I went to the Claimed tab and actually clicked on panel 1 of the secret strip in question, which then brings up the strip, and scrolling down I saw his panel. Would it be good to have notifications for when someone adds a panel to a strip you have created, or possibly to a strip you have "subscribed" to in some way? The only other alternative seems to be to continuously check strips via the claimed tab, or happen to see the new panels in the feed.

`Peyo`
Okay we tested it and yep I was able to submit multiple panels without need for additional passing, after Aluminimalism made a first panel and passed to me! So it seems like everything's working fine or at least I haven't seen more bugs. Thank you and great work!
2023-10-20 06:28:12
`Peyo` I thought it was working but on this strip
https://pchutney.com/strip/1892
Aluminimalism and me are running into a problem where whenever I try and draw next panel the page just refreshes and nothing else. She tried unpassing and re-passing but it made no difference!
2023-10-20 04:14:02
`Peyo` We're testing it out and so far everything looks good! Comments work both ways, and it looks like once it is passed it stays available. Great work! This is a neat feature!
2023-10-20 04:11:01
Now the way it works is everyone it gets passed to is left with access so it's a good way to do like limited number group projects! Since if you wanted to just have a comic where 3 people work on it just as long as it's passed to each of them once they should be on it forever.
2023-10-20 04:09:25
Okay so for this, it was probably blocking you from doing anything since, Peyo changed it so once it was passed you'd have access normally, so now that I passed it to you, you should be able to submit and also comment! (Also I know my previous panel was boring so feel free to add anything you want if you like and I will go with it! If it's not a bother that is but personally I think these are fun XD)
2023-10-20 04:06:59
Oh yay it's working, you can probably comment on mine too! This should work much better than before for private collabs!
2023-10-20 04:05:56
Okay I just submitted a panel, let me test and see if now it will save my comments! Peyo fixed it I think!
2023-10-19 10:25:01
`Peyo` Oh yes now I see them in my profile! Also I honestly am not trying to make extra work for you and I think the method of having everyone involved get access would be great. That's more realistically the one that would be of use for people, the one of a one-time pass and then being closed out would be more of a niche situation. Thank you for seeing to it so quickly! Also Peyo it's of course your business but you do have every right to be able to see everything that happens on the site! In fact I'd say it's better if you do so you can judge if things that are happening are things you want going on on your site. So I hope you never actually feel hesitant about looking at "private" things. People really should never be doing anything on your site (or any site) that they aren't okay with the owner knowing about.

`Peyo` There is a weird inherent unpleasantness in not being able to see a panel you made earlier! (I am not complaining at you just saying, I did notice that's distressing. It's like a piece of work you did is locked away in someone else's possession.)
2023-10-19 08:53:36
Peyo, hey there I actually like the option of a 1 time pass (It could be good for controlled projects) but I think of more use would be a mode where if you pass to someone they get added to the game and retain the ability to post and comment. Think of it in actual use, for instance if 2 people wanted to start a comic concept and just have it between them to be added to as they each think of panels, without it having to be passed each time. Not limited to two of course but however many they wanted to add. What would be slick would be if someone it was passed to was added to the authorization list for that strip even if they unpassed so it would be a way to let people in on it without them having to do a strip right away.
But yes people should be able to add comments if they were passed to
I think adding panels without a pass should be an option. Like maybe it could default to 1 add per pass but could also be made for unlimited.
I'd say the worst part was it just ate comments with no warning if you made comments after doing a panel. That caused the most confusion because I assumed my comments were sent but they never were, they just poofed. So if that's to happen a warning would be great!
2023-10-19 07:12:47
Okay from experimenting me and a friend figured out what's going on. Apparently it's just broken! You can comment as long as the game is passed to you and can even edit your own comments after the fact but once you have completed a panel it just makes it so you can't access the game anymore. (But it helpfully lets you THINK you can comment so you have the fun of watching your comment vanish!!!) I wrote a post to Peyo asking if he'll please change it because I could see this mode being seriously fun to use!!! Not just for secret communications but for like secret group projects with multidraw!
2023-10-19 07:07:21
After some testing of the secret hidden strips it seems that after you have them passed to you and complete a panel, they are returned to the originator and you can no longer comment without having your comment devoured by the void. You can still edit comments you have made however! Please give an option to make a hidden game keep everyone it has been passed to included, as that would allow for multi-draw games of this nature. (Yes it would be used.)

Test I have it passed back to me. I WILL EDITS COMMENT
I edits comment for 5 years from 1987... to 19... 91
I'm sorry that I edits comment I will tone it down
2023-10-19 04:41:12
Hiii I am going to try a comment! So you mean the one I passed you wouldn't give you a comment box? o.O Can you still see the strip or is it invisible to you now that you did a frame and passed? By the way thanks for testing this with me! XD
2023-10-19 03:13:26
`Timebroken` THANKS! I don't know if I ever knew that but if I did I forgot it, so I appreciate it!
2023-10-19 00:00:23
Thanks to Timebroken I was able to add all 22 panels! All you gotta do is choose one of the 22 methods Wally Wood shows on his famous example sheet and give it a shot with your own concepts and characters. Uploading your own work is fine! Here's Mr. Wood's original layout sheet to pick from but googling Wally Wood's 22 Panels That Always Work will get you plenty of results. Yes you can repeat them so don't be afraid to do one someone else already did!
