i see you also got the panels centered on the completed and underway pages on mobile 👍
2022-06-06 08:26:25
that looks a lot better
the best thing i can think of right now for showing last edit date would be to have an "edited" tag that shows the last edited date when tapped (probably only needs hover on desktop)
2022-06-06 05:30:28
it looks pretty good! the alternating colors is a nice touch
2022-06-04 20:41:58
its a little tricky and im still figuring out how exactly it works, im pretty much changing all the values just in case cause im not sure whats gonna affect the submition and what isnt
dont be like me and reflexively select the brush tool once youve made changes to the canvas size tho, itll reset it. i literally did that like three times in a row...
2022-06-04 13:20:40
also another thought ive had is
would it be possible to make timestamps use your system timezone rather than the servers, or would that require a complete overhaul with how timestamps are handled?
2022-06-04 13:16:28
unpass button is indeed on the strip page now!
you could have it so its "this strip is passed to and claimed by" and then a single avatar link
it still makes the "strips claimed by you" prompt show up on the claims page, but it only links to the strip in the "passed to you" section, so not really an issue, i suppose
2022-06-04 12:06:08
i think itd make sense for the pass to expire once youve claimed it, but maybe thats just me
2022-06-04 11:25:25
not sure if this is intentional...

also on the claims page

2022-06-04 11:11:49
that sounds good to me!
while im here, im just gonna dump this here i dont want to make a new thread for every time i come up with layouts

the same could also apply on desktop, im just showing mobile as an example since its more pertinent especially since basically any title longer than two words completely wrecks the current formatting
so basically the title has its own line + how many extra it needs on top of that with linebreaks, and then the number of posts within and timestamp are on their separate line, post number aligned left, timestamp aligned right

it looks pretty good on my end! 4 pages does feel like a lot to scroll through, but it's definitely an improvement!
i really like the way you approached the tool selection, its real slick

i like that idea! you could make the nuke page like a whole nuclear panel with like launch code post-its, random dials, etc
also itll mean there will be plenty space to use in the future for any other special actions to be added
2022-06-04 02:29:18
(i never know where to post bugs, im just gonna dump this here)
having gotten my first ever pass, ive got some new data!
for some reason, you can only unclaim a passed strip via the claims page, the unclaim button does not show up on the strips page.
additionally its a bit weird that you dont see the duration of the pass yourself when everyone else can?
2022-06-04 02:22:45
nice, it works!
and here i thought i made mentioning me a real hassle by adding a caret
peyo back again with a quick fix
2022-06-04 02:18:25
i think the sliders and color selection should always be visible since they are probably the most used aspect of the interface
however, thatd probably not make the arrows idea the most practical since youd only be able to fit a couple of buttons per "page" since theres quite a lot of tools unless you really cram them tight
but all options are definitely worth experimenting with!
2022-06-03 18:02:34
second variant is mostly the same buttons, just the nuke button brought back into the main ui (cause its cool), and stuff resized and shuffled around a little bit

main thing is that i moved the text for the sliders from underneath the sliders to ontop them. the numberic value being ontop of the sliding piece, and the text is underneath
if the value is 50, its on the left side.
this ensures the sliding bit doesnt cover up the text

(side note in regard to the preview, the count starts [from zero rather than one](https://i.imgur.com/3n8Oh1n.png) for some reason, going by array index, im guessing?)
the button next to that (in this instance showing the brush) would show your currently selected tool, and tapping on it would bring up a window with a selection of all the brushes, shapes, eyedropper, and whatever tools get added, and also the nuke button cause this particular layout lacks a better place for it
2022-06-03 17:32:10
since theres some features desktop has but mobile is missing, ive been thinking of how the buttons for them could be laid out on the mobile ui
ill probably make multiple, but right now ill start with the most basic that makes the least changes to the layout as it currently is
for a frame of reference, this is what i see on my phone, and is also what im basic my design upon. hopefully this isnt very different from what others see

(does everyone have the cancel and submit buttons squished like that or is that just me?)
the most basic layout would remove the nuke button from the main view to make space, and add two new buttons

the three squares button on the left side would be to bring up a window (similar to how the color picker pops up) to show the other panels in the strip
(the new thread ui needs a character counter like comments do)

i like the two in a row for completed, and ideally id have three in a row for underway on mobile, but that might be too small?
i definitely like the two pages not being too uniform, makes them easy to tell apart at a quick glance
one thing that does bug me is that theres a big gap on the right side on both pages on mobile, rather than having equal space on both sides of the columns of panels
2022-06-02 13:55:40
it would be kinda nice if the original post date would remain and the edit date would instead appear on the bottom right of the text box, since it seems you always get one extra lines worth of space on the bottom anyways. may as well make use of it?
also, is it necessary for the time stamps to display the seconds? both for original post and edit
EDIT: idk lol
2022-06-02 13:49:19
im likely the only other person who has noticed
honestly for stuff like that, having some equivalent to a sticky thread at the top of the forums would make more sense
2022-06-02 05:45:40
@peyo for emoji names, you might need mentioning via id, like @1 for you
having spaces in the name does seem to make it a but kludge since it also sets off markdown
itd need like a special instance where itd turn into a link or something instead of treated by markdown normally (if thats even possible)
2022-06-01 18:08:32
i definitely hope peyo keeps working on this cause even at this early state, the site is already better than paneljam
despite being a "cheap knockoff" as peyo would call it, its got features that paneljam desperately needs and never will get.
like panel saving, seeing games that are claimed, improved passing, being able to actually see a list of ongoing games rather than spamming shuffle
it needs work, sure, but it can easily surpass paneljam
2022-06-01 13:09:56
it doesnt show up in user in-progress page since that shows panels, not strips, so a 0 panel game wouldnt show up anyway?
2022-06-01 11:34:04
also shouldnt it be called liked strips or liked games, since it shows strips youve liked not the individual panels youve starred?
2022-06-01 11:32:31
liked panels page shows nsfw panels rather than using the warning image
