Color Picker Request/Suggestion

`Peyo` Yet again this isn't something urgent for me since personally I tend to upload, but I do like to use the site drawing software sometimes, like in a recent Ed Edd and Eddie strip. This is more just some feedback on a system. Probably the absolute worst part for me of using the drawing software is the color picker, because of one aspect: The fact you have to actively confirm the color you shifted to in order to keep it. What I always end up doing is changing to the color I want, then hitting the wrong button and closing it, which resets it and loses the work! Chances are others are having a similar experience, simply because confirming a color change isn't a part of the process on art software normally. Would it be possible to make it so the change is auto-confirmed on closing? I think in general that would make the process of changing colors a lot easier! Every unexpected result or added step adds friction to the creative process. Just an observation! Honestly without that one problem using the local painting app for that panel (something involving just a lot of broad pressure-sensitive strokes) would have been great! It was only the coloring part that got me frustrated due to the accidental reverts.

sure, but if I remember correctly confirming works like this because someone asked to work like this 🤔 (I don't remember who but I guess we'll find out after I change it)

`Peyo` If you change it, thank you, it will make using the app way easier! I'd be curious to know who asked for it too! I'm pretty sure they're a mischievous imp who was out to cause consternation.

I'm sure it was just a convenience for someone and no mischief was involved 🤔 (and i'm also sure you know that and just making a joke that is flying over my head .. but i'm too tired to tell 🤔) anyway most of these updates will be probably only coming around dec 8-ish (I will be on holiday from work all through dec after that and will finally have time for this stuff 👍)

`TeeEffDee` ok added the changes 👍 please check if this is what you had in mind (a little wrench in the works: I promised to finish up an unrelated project by january - because of course I had 😔 - I want to deliver the promised stuff and hopefully won't burn myself out.. anyway just letting you know )

`Peyo` I tested and it seems to be the same! Also like I said don't worry about these matters on my account as they're not critical, they're more just user interface experiences. I can get around this one by uploading but it does make it offputting to use the site tools. Actually I wonder if I may have been unclear too, what I was wanting was just for when you close the palette for it to keep whatever custom color you have selected whether or not you press the thumbs up. So for example if I open it, select a black palette spot, and change it to orange, then close the palette, it keeps that choice. Right now, I have to actively select the thumbs up button to keep it, or else it gets reverted on close.

`TeeEffDee` I think I misunderstood I thought you just wanted it to close after selecting 🤔 so it should just keep the color selected and don't revert back to the original in the palette? edit: added a quick hotfix - try it now

`Peyo` Hi and thanks for giving this attention! I still don't see any difference, it's still acting like before. Is there anything I need to do to make sure I have the update?

`Peyo` Just in case I am not getting the idea across, what would be good would be if you open the color picker and change to a new color, then close it, that new color should be retained in that slot. So that the act of changing a color for a slot in the palette is just like this: 1. Open color picker 2. Pick new color with color picker rectangle 3. Close color picker. Currently the process is: 1. Open color picker 2. Pick a new color with the color picker rectangle. 3. Press the thumbs up button to register the new color for the slot. 4. Close color picker. The step of having to press the thumbs up is the issue as missing that step just undoes your color choice entirely.

drat, I got it right the first time and undoed it 😔 anyway now it should be: open color picker pick color thumbs up replaces color and closes color picker x button closes color picker, doesnt replace color in the palette but you are still drawing with it

`Peyo` Excellent that seems to work I just tested it! Thank you for adding that, that will speed up painting a lot!

`Peyo` that makes it so that you can paint using different colors with the picker open, then when you close it you don't lose your color you're using! Really good!
