IDK who here still wants to go on PJ, but I'm willing to share the creator's email if you guys want to reach out to him, because I certainly don't wanna be the only guy to do that.
feel free to bombard the dude with emails imho
at this point I'm not sure if we should be cautious or care anymore
(not to mention hosting costs him quite a lot - this is something he should know about)
Yeah, fire away with those emails, `nooz` , I donβt mind sending a few if it helps ππ
Any idea what is causing the internal server error, `Peyo` ? Failed plug-in update or something?
`Painovoima` I can only guess: I assume one of the cloud servers have 'altered the deal' π€ (like how it happened here)
Ah yes, `Peyo` , that makes sense and sounds very plausible. Sad, it appears to still have not regained function. Looks to be completely neutralized at this point. Hope you top 25 members managed to back up some of your artwork from over the years. So many good pieces on there π₯
yup, it's getting ridiculous at this point - I understand he is busy with life but not even looking at the thing now and then? weird π
`Painovoima`
no worries!! i got a secret weapon for that~! *ahem* https://archive.org/web/ TADA!!!! THE WAYBACK MACHINE!! just insert paneljams url & select a date & TADA!! you can't log in though i believe but i'll try it!!
update: yeah you can't log in ><
good news is you can still view panels! forums arent seeming to work w it >
it would be kind of strange if you could .. but with these new cloud tech who knows π€
`emwob` , hey, thank you my friend, exactly what I was looking for! π I remember the Wayback Backups from last summer, but forgot how to get to it, glad we have a small intact piece of PanelJam history to browse, I do miss the place.
Need to start drawing more on here, has been a wild spring though, but eager to get back to digital art.
I've got bad news folks, just stumbled upon this: [https://ca.linkedin.com/in/matthew-pierce-1504293a](https://ca.linkedin.com/in/matthew-pierce-1504293a)
"Founded and developed PanelJam.com - The Free Online Drawing Game and Comic Artist Community.
Now shutdown, the website was as an experiment in shifting the focus of social media from social consumption, to social creation. This was achieved by creating a platform where anyone on the internet could draw comics together, one panel at a time. Of the many thousands of comics created on the platform, all content was produced collaboratively by the community.
Over five years the community grew by over 34,000 artists. Upon shutdown, members of the community came together to create their own spiritual successor 'Panel Chutney', which can be found at: pchutney.com"
I guess this is the closest we can expect as an official statement on PJ's state π
(so turns out he knows about this site.. at least I no longer have to worry about my ass getting sued off π€
Rip PJ! Was fun to jump on train almost before the shut down
Dude's even aware of this site, that's crazy to me :0
(hi btw miss drawing with y'all just can't access my pc that im usually drawing from atm)
Okay I found about this thread a bit late. But `Painovoima` `emwob` and `nooz`. We did make backups of the site a bit back. So you can download the whole site and access it like if it ~~never shut down~~.
If `Peyo` wants he could probably host the archive here, letting people access it without downloading it.
Here is a youtube tutorial posted by THE cheddar teeth π§ π¦· on how to download and use the site: https://youtu.be/LiKNtUspug4
PS: please join the discord! Makes communicating a bit easier π
https://discord.gg/6dkRFCQygp
that is a good idea - only thing is that the archive is 6GB and we only got 3GB of space here (it's possible to get more but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to increase hosting costs all of a sudden) π€
(for now let's make sure that many people have an offline copy just in case π€ )
